ista in school: Climate Hour
We want to put emphasis on the topic of energy-efficient buildings and share our knowledge with the next generation. ista employees visit your school and bring free teaching material on the topics of energy saving, resource efficiency and climate protection.
The building sector is facing a major challenge to become greenhouse gas neutral by 2045. Many school buildings need refurbishment and show energy losses. We want to emphasise this issue in schools and pass on our knowledge of "buildings and climate protection" to future generations. To this end, we have developed a concept together with the german association BildungsCent that offers you as a teacher a free teaching unit including materials on the topics of energy saving, resource efficiency and climate protection. ista employees visit your school as "corporate volunteers" and take over the lessons.
Climate protection at school. ista in school.
The topic of 'Education for Sustainable Development' has long since arrived in schools. As a cross-cutting theme across multiple subjects, ESD can be addressed at various points and integrated into the curriculum. One option here could be the offering from ista SE. The Climate Hour is conducted by Corporate Volunteers and offers you as a school or teacher the opportunity to fill a double lesson completely free of charge with topics such as climate protection, energy consumption in buildings, and self-efficacy. As a kickoff for an entire series of lessons or as an excursion."
Our Climate Hour - developed for schools
We as a property service provider have partnered with the German educational association BildungsCent to create an educational concept for the topic “Buildings & Climate Protection”. The concept of the Climate Hour combines theoretical knowledge transfer with practical energy saving.
ista aims to empower young people to uncover energy saving potentials in their schools and to take action themselves against energy waste. The Climate Hour is designed for grades 8 or 9 and addresses topics such as energy saving, resource efficiency, and climate protection, which are part of the curricula of today’s schools worldwide.

Benefit from Expert Knowledge: Why are we doing this?
At ista, we aim to provide our employees with opportunities to invest at least 5,000 hours per year in promoting climate protection, energy awareness, and social engagement in society. One component of this goal is our educational program 'ista in school,' which consists of various initiatives. With all our activities, we pursue our vision of carbon-neutral real estate by 2040.
As a leading metering service provider, we support homeowners and property managers in making their buildings future-proof. With our solutions, we help consume less energy and thus protect the climate. As a globally operating company, we also have a social responsibility. Therefore, we want to share our knowledge with schools and students on a voluntary basis. As part of the educational project 'ista in school' running since 2017, ista supports various projects or creates own initiatives, such as the Climate Hour.
